Bufa Typeface

Bufa was developed by studying the architecture and traditional signage of Zacatecas, Mexico, the city where I grew up. Its high-contrast forms and refined serifs balance elegance with cultural authenticity, paying homage to the visual character of my hometown. This one-year project began with hand-drawn sketches of every character on paper, which were then meticulously translated into digital glyphs to create a fully functional, typeable typeface. Tested across branding, editorial, and packaging applications, Bufa brings a sophisticated yet distinctive voice to every project.
